Maritza Zermeño

Candidate for Mount Vernon District Supervisor

Making Fairfax Affordable.
Making Government Accountable.

Mount Vernon deserves affordable neighborhoods, better transportation, stronger schools, and county government that delivers results.

It’s too expensive to live in Fairfax County. And too often, our government takes too long to deliver the services and improvements residents deserve.

I am running for Mount Vernon District Supervisor to change that.

Maritza Zermeno, Mount Vernon Supervisor candidate

Two Priorities. One Commitment.

Our Government Needs to Be More Responsive

Get long-delayed projects moving and make public officials accountable for results.

Explore Priority Two →

Lower Costs. More Opportunity.

Housing people can afford

Expand affordable and workforce housing; preserve mixed-use neighborhood plans with useful ground-floor shops and protections against displacement.

Fairer taxes and utility bills

Scrutinize county spending, seek sustainable revenue sources, and make water and sewer bills understandable with a fair process for correcting errors.

Local businesses and jobs

Build complete neighborhoods with groceries, local storefronts, restaurants, and services near where people live.

Better transportation

Advance Richmond Highway improvements, bus rapid transit, safe crossings, and targeted Lorton road projects.

Fort Belvoir opportunities

Ask the Army to verify available housing and explore a lawful pilot for teachers, firefighters, and other essential workers while protecting military needs.

Responsible spending

Make household affordability a test of budget decisions and demand evidence of value from every major investment.

I came to America from Mexico in 2000 and became a U.S. citizen in 2008. I know what opportunity means to a family—and how important it is for government to serve every member of our community.

I’ve served as a Chief Election Officer in more than 20 elections, helped register more than 2,000 voters, and founded the Fairfax County Democratic Committee’s Latino Caucus.
